Our Nubian dairy goats, beef Holsteins and assorted layer fowl are raised to be healthy and happy. We provide them with premium feeds, clean well water and a heterogenous pasture for their health. To stay happy, they have cozy, well-ventilated shelters and plenty of room to graze, peck and play.

This is the third feral dog attack on River Rock Farm that has resulted in a vet bill. (All of them have been in the past year and that is a different story about suburban sprawl.) Please, folks, if you live in a rural area, lock up your dogs (especially at night). These events have me losing sleep and prowling the pasture with Dad’s old Winchester Ranger Model 120. In the unlikely event I actually get a chance to wreak vengeance on a predator, we will both be losers.
Charlotte is a great mom but she will be unable to have any more kids. Due to this and other circumstances finding a breeding buck this fall, we are skipping breeding this season altogether and we will not have any cute new kids or cheese in 2022 or milk for the calves in 2023.
Consider this a PSA for rural dog owners. You have a responsibility to keep your pets safe from armed, delirious farmers!
